Late Twenties - Empty Void or Kick in the Rump

Here are the late 20's.  Successful enough the start buying more expensive stupid shit, yet the ability to execute on great ideas has significantly diminished.  Motivation to be creative, also significantly depleted by the assignment of tasks by others (aka work).  Time spend entertained cheaply by actors, greater than ever before.

I work from my house, which has it's positive traits, getting out of bed 15 minutes before a phone meeting with a client, and negative affects, the trip to the grocery store happens at least 4 times a week to relieve the desire in the change of scenery. You know it's bad when your parents put "going to Trader Joe's" down in a card as a fun thing you can do on your bike... There is also a subtle affect that only happens when you are successful in creating a good home working environment... you never see another living soul except your husband... all day long...

Now this has it's benefits, true.  I could be sitting in my overalls, desperately in need of a shower, and receiving compliments on how professional I am.  Our (unpaid) lunchbreaks are spent making freshly chopped stir fries or tacos instead of reheating leftovers.  Our 15 minute "smoking" recess is spent walking to the beach and back, though usually trying to troubleshoot client problems with my husband... but still.  That is cool.

But in all honesty, I haven't really satisfied the need to simply see other people in several years.  Looking at photos and making "whity" remarks to facebook profiles simply doesn't cut it.  Who would think that in my late 20s that I would be suffering from loneliness and possible hermitdom simply because I don't hear stories everyday about how somebody's cat threw up on their pillow.  There is a difference between laughing about somebody's bad luck and reading about it because you "friended" another person.

So here I am.  Modern worker 2.0 in all it's glory.  Need to wash my hair, hateful of the approaching Monday, but can make you a kick ass website from my livingroom/office/diningroom/guestroom in at least 8 hours or less.  A modern worker's plight non-the-least, but at least the only worry I have about getting into a car accident is if semi-truck runs into my house.
